TimeTag Terms of Use

Effective 26 October 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Bytangle Ltd, company number 17287853 (71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom; "we", "us") for the TimeTag app. By installing or using TimeTag you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled and is part of these terms.

1. What TimeTag is

TimeTag turns prices into hours of your own work, based on the pay and hours you enter. It reads prices with your phone's camera, from photos and from receipts you share to it, and keeps a log, habits and reports on your phone.

2. Not financial advice

TimeTag gives perspective, not financial advice. The hours it shows are estimates from the numbers you enter, currency rates you set, and text read automatically from images, which can be wrong (for example a misread price, a unit price, or a missed discount or tax). Check important figures yourself. We are not a bank, financial adviser or tax adviser, and nothing in the app is a recommendation to buy, not buy, save or invest. Decisions you make are yours.

3. Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), use TimeTag with the permission of a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms for you.

4. Your licence

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use TimeTag on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, in line with these terms and the rules of the store you got it from (Apple App Store or Google Play). You may not copy, resell, reverse-engineer (except where the law allows it), or use the app to break the law or anyone's rights.

If you got TimeTag from the Apple App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Apple is not responsible for the app or its support, is not a party to these terms, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support; Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. If the app fails to meet a warranty that applies, you may tell Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any); to the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation.

5. TimeTag Pro

Scanning prices is always free. TimeTag Pro unlocks extra features (for example full log history, the monthly report, real hourly wage, travel currency, app lock, more card styles and more habits) and is sold as:

Prices are shown in the app and the store before you pay, and may include taxes. Payments, renewals and refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their terms; we can't issue refunds directly. Use "Restore purchases" to get Pro back on a new phone with the same store account. Promotional codes are subject to the terms shown with them. If Pro features change, we won't take away a feature from something you already bought without telling you, and nothing a free user has today is taken away.

Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer, including any statutory right to cancel or to a refund where it applies.

6. Your data and backups

Your pay, log and habits are stored on your phone. You are responsible for your phone, its screen lock and your Apple or Google account. If you turn on backup, an encrypted copy goes to your own iCloud or Google Drive (see the Privacy Policy). If you add a passphrase and forget it, or lose access to your Apple or Google account, a backup may be impossible to open, and we can't recover it: we never hold your data, keys or passphrases. "Delete all data" cannot be undone.

7. Content you share

Share cards, exports and photos are yours. You decide what to share and where. Don't share content you don't have the right to share, and remember a card that shows a price can reveal your hourly pay.

8. Third-party services

TimeTag uses Apple and Google services (app stores, iCloud, Google Drive, on-device text recognition), RevenueCat for purchases, and, only if you turn them on, PostHog and Sentry for anonymous statistics and crash reports. Their own terms apply to them. We are not responsible for their services.

9. Availability and changes

We may update, change or stop parts of TimeTag. We try to keep the app working on supported phones but don't promise it will always be available, error-free or compatible with every device. Some features need a camera, a supported operating system, Google Play services or an Apple or Google account.

10. Liability

TimeTag is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we exclude all warranties not stated in these terms, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of data, or for spending, saving or financial decisions made using the app. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for TimeTag in the 12 months before the claim (or GBP 50 if you paid nothing).

We do not exclude or limit liability that the law does not allow us to exclude or limit, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your rights as a consumer under the laws of your country (for example the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, EU consumer law, or the Nigerian Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018).

11. Ending these terms

You can stop at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or end your licence if you seriously break these terms. Sections 2, 6, 10 and 12 continue after the terms end.

12. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and can bring a claim in your local courts. Please contact us first; most problems can be sorted out quickly.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the effective date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app before they apply. If you keep using TimeTag after that, the new terms apply.
